ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
HOW I WORK
Being an integrative therapist means that I am able to adapt my way of working depending on your needs, personality and timeframe.
That said, I always work in a person-centred way. This ensures that you have space and time to bring whatever you need.
I also incorporate Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) which promotes an evolutionary and bio-psycho-social approach. We all have tricky brains that have evolved over time and through no fault of our own, this can make coping with our thoughts and feelings quite challenging sometimes. We will think about your problems in the light of your specific situation and context. In CFT we try to cultivate a Compassionate Mind that can help us to deal with strong emotions. We will work with imagery and mindfulness and use chairwork and other exercises to explore your feelings and where patterns of behaviour began.
EXPERIENCE
I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and for a number of different charities and organisations.
I have been working in private practice since 2016, which means that I have been seeing clients with any kind of presenting issue.
I have worked in universities and higher education for over 15 years now and have a strong understanding of the pressures both staff and students are facing. I love working with university students, including mature students and have valued the opportunity of accompanying them through an important time of transition.
I have a lot of experience of working with bereavement and loss having worked for Cruse Bereavement Care and the Carers' Centre in Lewisham.
